I know a lot of us have fandoms we don't qualify for that we'd like to, so I was considering doing a multifandom comment meme/prompt fest to help get the story counts where it would need to be. But the question becomes: Random prompts? A specific type of prompt? Or a theme?

3) Inspiration is hard! And while I'm trying to figure out item #2, I thought it'd be fun to try try and get a headstart. So, whatever, a different kind of meme:
The iPod Shuffle
No, not that one. Let's be honest, when we need inspiration, the first place we go is our music library. So let's try something a little bit different. My music library is no help to me, but maybe it can be for someone else. Here's how this thing works:
1) Comment to this post, and I'll give you a prompt in the form of whatever song shuffles up next on whatever music player I've got going at the time.
2) Turn on the music player of your choice to shuffle, post this to your own journal and dole out prompts. No, you can't hide your shameful music. If it shuffles up, that's the gig.
3) Write/draw/whatever way you create for the prompt you've been given: post it. Again, no hiding the shame. Even if you think it's awful, post it.
4) Link your finished product to the prompt comment, because it's always lovely to see the results. ♥

1) Last Monday, I told aredblush that obviously the only way to really celebrate Danger Days coming out was with, will art. (Art is the weapon!) And she drew me killjoys! So amazing, guys! So amazing!

Now, in the midst of remixy admin things, I've been slowly, slowly, slowly moving things over to AO3 because it'll make things neater and easier for whoever gets stuck with me. I realized, during this, that I am ONE story away from actually qualifying in bandom. Oops.

Since there are a couple of weeks until sign-ups begin, I've decided this is a fixable thing. In fact, if there is any fandom you want to qualify in, I would say to you, as well, you still have time to qualify. (For fandom qualifying discussion, of course, go here.) So, I'm taking drabble prompts for currently qualifying fandoms, fandoms we're considering, and a couple of fandoms that will only make it in my wildest dreams (alas, Merlin RPF, alas!).

Please, give me drabble prompts for bandom, Merlin, Sherlock Holmes, White Collar, Psych, Sports Night, Good Omnes, Firefly, Supernatural RPF, and/or Merlin RPF.

Context is for the birds, yo.

A quick poll, as we're getting ready to head out to Hell, I mean, Wal-Mart:

I realized--well, a while ago, but with clarity to the fact that it could have meaning--tonight that I have a very strong distaste for Britishisms in Supernatural and House fic. Especially in House fic, and I can't decide if I blame the House writers and their need to have House be so, so mocking when England and it's inhabitants come up, or my deep sympathy for Hugh Laurie and his kick ass accent that must make him want to kill himself at least a dozen times each day. (Hell, half the House dialogue would make me want to off myself, and I don't even have an accent to try and hide.)

But either way, it grates on my nerves in odd ways. I like most of these things, usually. Lord knows I've picked up strange speech things on the internet, for any number of reasons, and I like them, but not in my House fic. I don't know why, but there are you.

And I realized tonight, much to my horror, that I am, in fact, probably guilty of exactly the same thing. Only in reverse.

So I made a poll.

( I cut because when polls make the friends page scroll it sucks like a sucking thing, but there is a poll behind this cut and so you shouldn't ignore it because, well, yay poll! People like polls! Poll, poll, poll. )

The bad news for Arrested Development keeps on coming.

This has prompted a very serious discussion between musesfool and myself. And by "very serious discussion" I mean, I've been whining, and then decided to just take a brand new action.

Yes. I've decided that action must be taken, please attempt to contain your surprise. I have decided that I must start a TV channel for all my favorite dead, canceled-before-their-time shows. I'm not just talking reruns, because that's been done, man. I'm talking brand new episodes of Firefly, spanking new Arrested Development until it stops making me laugh for hours (we're not here to talk nonsense to Bob Loblaw), a resolution to Miracles, more wacky, snarktastic adventures in Wonderfalls! This might be my new goal in life, people. My lost loves, no longer lost, running back to back, until I say so.

musesfool, however, detected a problem. I cannot run an entire network on four shows. I need more. So I beg you, LJ, give me your weak, give me your loved, give me your cult-like fandoms with shiny new bows. You've got an opinion on this, I know you do.

Everyone's got a show they loved that's gone now. Everyone's got a show that only they watched. Tell me what it is. I've got network building to do.
