So, I've fallen into the pit of a television cop show that is the Hawaii Five-0 reboot. And, in the words of My Chemical Romance, I won't go down by myself.

This is not a Hawaii Five-0 pimping post. This is a Steve/Danny pimping post. Because spoiler: Steve and Danny are married. Chin (Daniel Dae Kim, omg, so much love) and Grace Park (testing your heterosexuality since 2010) are fantastic! They are kickass. They are the second and third best reasons to watch this show, but they aren't going to be featured here. It's isn't at all because I don't adore them; it's just because I think anyone who'd even consider the show would do so because Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park.

Oh god, guys, I am so far behind on answering comments and emails and doing, you know, everything. See, it happened like this bookshop on a dark and stormy posted a prompt the the inception_kink meme.

jibrailis wrote an AMAZING fill for this prompt, Flannel: A Love Story, which you should all go read if you haven't yet, because, see earlier re: AMAZING.

aredblush read this story, and then drew adorable art for it!

In the comments of that post, aredblush said, "I WANT ALL THE FLANNEL FICS IN THE WORLD! GIVE ME ALL OF IT! ESPECIALLY IF THE FLANNEL IS EAMES' AND ARTHUR BORROWS IT AND THEN HE WILL BE IN OVERSIZED FLANNEL THAT SMELLS LIKE EAMES!"

I filled this request with the story I posted in the dead of night last night/this morning, Like I Wanna Live Now, because I've apparently given up the ghost of writing something that isn't so fluffy cotton candy takes a step back to say, "whoa, whoa... that is fluffy."

Went to a BBQ at a friend's house this afternoon for Labor Day. I realize I'm pretty much the least social person ever, but oh my god. I love her dearly! I wanted to punch her friend a lot. I can't decide if he's an asshole or an idiot, and after one too many "well, what do you expect, she's a girl" comments followed by YET ANOTHER BOUT of not attempting to keep his kid from pushing people, I had pretty much had enough and made an early escape.

Now I'm irritated and tired.

Instead of doing something like homework, I've been working on this story. It started off as comment fic. It was 500 words, and I was just going to clean it up a little bit and post it. It's now 5000 words, and still needs a better ending put in, so, lord, it'll probably end up around 6k, at least. I have no idea how this happened, and it is absolutely the most ridiculous thing in the world. I sort of love it. If I knew what shame as anymore I'd have it.

The LXD has started! It's just a super interesting concept, and I'm going to go ahead and put "Harry Shum Jr. choreographing on SYTYCD" on my Random Fannish Desires list. Dancing as a superpower! I sort of can't wait for more of that. I keep wishing I could train my body to do that. My body keeps laughing at me though, so I'm going to go ahead and guess that no, no, I never ever could.

Speaking of Things I Wish I Could Do, you guys, someone needs to tell me where I can get the skill to write something like this Simpsons/SPN fusion story. It's so completely random, and so completely awesome, and someone just really needs to direct me to that store, basically.

I am seriously considering writing the fic where he decides that, no, as a matter of fact, he is not going to sign over parental rights*, and ends up keeping the baby and trying to raise her on his own, in his very own failtastic but trying manner that I happen to find so ridiculous and adorable. Also, I may have no desire to ever reproduce, but something about a badass with a baby just really does it for me. I don't get it. He would be working, and trying to keep up in school, and randomly conning other glee kids into babysitting! He'd bring her to practice, sometimes, and they'd argue over lullabies, and whatever, he would always sing her to sleep, and every time he did she would grin and that made everything else in the world totally worth it. ♥♥♥

Or, you know, not. Because apparently I fail at doing anything light or funny or sweet, and I's gots to bring the angst. Even though there are some fandoms where the thing I want most if for them to get lots and lots and lots of hugs. So many hugs. ALL THE HUGS IN THE WORLD. ::cough:: I'm sure you all could not guess which fandom that is, either.

I mentioned this to sleepismyfriend last night, and she informed me that, most likely it already exists somewhere on the internet, so I shouldn't bother. But I cannot find it! Now, I'm not particularly shippy about Glee, beyond "...will this get Puck to sing and/or remove his shirt?" because my priorities are awesome. But in my search for this Puck + baby fic, I ran across 'Cause You've Got An Awfully Long Way to Go by paperclipbitch which is Kurt/Puck that I can totally and completely get behind. It's long and filled with cliches that I love a stupid amount, and has like, the very best Kurt voice ever, and basically, I might just start shipping Puck/Kurt full time now. It's so great, it didn't even make me want Finn to be punched in the face, you guys. You should all go read it, and then find me my damn Kurt + baby fic.

Especially since, hilariously, nobody could agree on what I should write next. Nothing got more than one vote! And at this rate, if I have to go and choose something myself, it will be this, and not something from my to-do list, which is just sad. I want to mark something off of that. It's getting a little bit out of control.

Yesterday, I let my brother shame me into working out, and now my everything hurts. Everything! All of it! And I was up, um, all night, reading that fic, so I'm put myself down for a nap before I turn into a cranky, cranky baby. I'm totally going to be mourning the fact that I do not have a Puck to sing me to sleep though.

Now, I'm gonna bury this in a tl;dr post of random fandom flailing so it makes me seem like less of douche, but: A public service announcement: If one of the warnings you attach to your fic is "OOC" then you are doing it wrong..



* Does the show even realize this has to happen for the baby to be put up for adoption? Is this one of those fail things like how they think you can tell if it's a boy or a girl before you're even showing? Has no one on that writing staff ever been around someone pregnant at all? luzdeestrellas wrote me fic because she thinks I'm awesome. She said it was for my birthday, but since that was ages ago, clearly that can't be it. You should all go read it though! It's Sam and Dean being awesome and calling each other names and making out. So SPN as it should be. Boys.

I love those Winchester boys, you guys. I've spent five years watching them bicker, and banter, and get kicked around, and try to save a life or save the world. I've seen them and their best, and their worst, and their most honest. I've watched them lie, get beat up, get heart broken, and do the last thing they want to do because it's what's right. I want to bring them home and feed them cookies and give them hugs and that safe place they've never really had.

They are my very favorite boys.

I mean, I'm also fond of some other dudes. Against my better judgment, I love Pete Wentz and all his emo, apparently. So.

Last night I had a dream that prettykitty_aya and universeunfold and I went to a FOB show that was the size of an Empires show. There was someone else there I didn't know, who was apparently a friend of theirs, who just laid in the floor reading a newspaper. I don't even know. The guys were milling about and Andy kept hugging Shai. Treva told Pete that one of the songs was impossible to not dance to, and Pete laughed and did the stupid, "haha you liiike me" thing. So I made fun of his hair. Then we all proceeded to argue with him, when he said he was going to grow it out the length of Andy's and see if he looked like Dave Grohl. Then, because Shai and I have vowed we are not driving home after a show again, Pete decided he would drive us, and Treva thought it was a fantastic idea.

It was not.
