All the TV that I Have Loved

The bad news for Arrested Development keeps on coming.

This has prompted a very serious discussion between [livejournal.com profile] musesfool and myself. And by "very serious discussion" I mean, I've been whining, and then decided to just take a brand new action.

Yes. I've decided that action must be taken, please attempt to contain your surprise. I have decided that I must start a TV channel for all my favorite dead, canceled-before-their-time shows. I'm not just talking reruns, because that's been done, man. I'm talking brand new episodes of Firefly, spanking new Arrested Development until it stops making me laugh for hours (we're not here to talk nonsense to Bob Loblaw), a resolution to Miracles, more wacky, snarktastic adventures in Wonderfalls! This might be my new goal in life, people. My lost loves, no longer lost, running back to back, until I say so.

[livejournal.com profile] musesfool, however, detected a problem. I cannot run an entire network on four shows. I need more. So I beg you, LJ, give me your weak, give me your loved, give me your cult-like fandoms with shiny new bows. You've got an opinion on this, I know you do.

Everyone's got a show they loved that's gone now. Everyone's got a show that only they watched. Tell me what it is. I've got network building to do.

[Poll #610722]

Thank you for your input, please feel free to give me any other thoughts you comments you may have, and make sure to pass it around so your friends will tell me too. We don't want anyone missing out on this ground breaking opportunity to help build a network by the unrepresented masses for the unrepresented masses.

* The second, third, fourth and so on will be put in comments.

Channel name: something that bitchily yet smartly makes fun of Fox because, let's face it, it's the worst culprit.

As for second, third, etc, I select:
- in the sitcom category: Sports Night, Undeclared and Freaks & Geeks, to be put together on Mondays to cheer me up after the start of yet another week.
- in the "Deep inside of me, there's a teenage girl screaming to be let free" category: My So Called Life, Felicity, Joan of Arcadia and Young Americans.
- in the "Why, God, why?!" category: Profit, Carnivale and Action.
- and in the I will be killed dead if I don't mention those shows sci-fi shows category: Angel and Firefly.

Fox really is the worst culprit. And personally, I think that American Idol has made the bastards smug with the foolish notion that they can do away with quality programing to get ratings. My god, my hate for them grows and grows and grows with every thought. I swore off Fox once, you know, and it went so well until House. House. I should steal it for my network before Fox can further fuck it.

As for your list, OMG Sports Night, yes. Because I've got mad crazy Josh Charles love. Plus, you know, Aaron Sorkin does banter like no one else can. Ah, banter, how I love thee. (Seriously, Supernatural hits on every single thing I love.)

Freaks & Geeks I thought of last night as well. It was never a show that I watched, because I'm one of those people who squirms in secondary embarrassment entirely too easy, but my mom loved it. Plus, I figure any show that's got fans willing to shell out $90 for dvds totally deserves to be on the list. ;)

Joan of Arcadia I loved in the first season, and would like it see it fix the whole Adam mistake from the second. Wentworth Miller is also a nice little... bonus, or something. lol Angel. OMG Angel. My mom cried when it was canceled. There were tears. Firefly's totally a given, man, and you know the cast would jump at it too.

As for Profit, I didn't know of it until just recently, when I was reading about the dvds coming out. And since it's the guy who did The Inside (oh! also in the line-up) and Wonderfalls, I figure it's a show I've got to see.
