I wouldn't say Anne was freakishly cool. I would say shes somewhat cool. I mean, shes sorta a square. But gilbert, now, gilbert is the secks.

While I wouldn't take any amount of compliments away from Gilbert, Anne is quite cool in her own right. Certainly, she was a bit petulant at times, especially in the first book. However, she lived in faerie land. Anne saw the real world as only a jumping-off point, and then made it into the wonderland she dreamt. Anne thought way, way, way outside the box, which, by definition, would prevent her from ever being contained within a square.
