I signed up for

spn_j2_bigbang. Oops?
In other news, I cannot get over a) Sean Van Vleet's face, and b) The Damn Things Over.
Oh, empires, you are kind of my favorites.

In all the squeeing over Empires, I missed the part where you like Supernatural?! WELL HELLO THERE. (Uh, I still haven't seen yesterday's, so if you have, shh...)
I have maybe been listening to my mp3 rip of "Hello Lover" all goddamn day. I keep meaning to listen to all of HOWL straight through, but I keep hitting the end of "Spit the Dark" or "I Want Blood" and thinking, you know, I think I need to hear "Hello Lover" again. And then I backtrack. *facepalm*

WHY HELLO, THERE, NEW BEST FRIEND. HOW WOULD YOU FEEL ABOUT SHARING THAT MP3 RIP WITH ME?
I had Damn Things Over playing over and over and over yesterday. I put my ipod on to shuffle Empires, and it just kept playing that one, like, every other song. My iPod knows me well.

The way I act about Empires music is just bizarre and unexpected to me. I knoooow you thought I was sucking up, but I really do love every song! XD And the other strange thing is that I have yet to get tired of HOWL, despite playing and playing and playing it. Other music that I have from two years ago, I don't really listen to anymore. But Empires are something else entirely. I have never been able to shut up once I started talking about them, and now that I have SEEN THEM OMG, it has just gotten worse. I feel like I have turned into a musical evangelist or something. HEAR THE GOSPEL OF EMPIRES AND BELIEVE...THE LEAVES. :D

I am currently debating the ethics of maybe uploading Damn Things Over for my flist. Because on one hand: AWESOME SONG TO MAKE PEOPLE LOVE EMPIRES. And on the other hand: it's not that often they actually ask for money for things, really. But seriously, SVV!
I was telling Shai on the way up there that his little pet name thing was pretty much making me explode with flaily heart hands and glee and want, and that was just from the "baby" and "darling". Then he goes and does Hello, Lover, because he wants to kill me. I just can't even deal with the level of flail I am currently feeling toward these dudes.
On a different topic: SPN is my show. I have watched it from the beginning. I love Sam! And I love Dean! And I love their faces! I would also like to take them home and give them lots of hugs and cookies. And possibly some physical therapy, I say with a leer in their direction. Ugh, those two Winchester boys. The hearts in my eyes are sort of endless.

Ohmygod, I am so with you on the pet name thing. It's precious and yet it is also HOT LIKE BURNING. I want Hello Lover to show up on an album so that they will give us the lyrics and I can figure out all the bits I can't quite catch. Although I am catching the important parts, like hello, lover, don't you want me?. In that low growly voice of GROWLINESS. That is just not fair, SVV! How am I supposed to resist that? How am I supposed to NOT HAVE A HEART ATTACK?
SPN! Wooooo! I, uh, tried to watch it from the beginning. But the first ep I ever saw was Bloody Mary, and it FREAKED ME OUT and I vowed I would not watch that show! (Oops.) And then during S3, I somehow got hooked on it again, so I flew through the first couple seasons and have remained firmly attached ever since. Oh those boys. OH. Hey, if you like quiet, happy comms, you should check out

The point I had started that with was actually that "free fall with me" is one of my favorite lines every.
See, Hello Lover would be one thing on a CD. With the "hello, lover," and the growling, and the "hello, baby," because I really enjoy the way that Sean Van Vleet says "baby." But then you add in the IMMEASURABLE HOTNESS OF SVV ON STAGE SWEATING AND SINGING AND HAVING HIS HAIR ALL ADORABLY STUCK TO HIS FACE. And then, no, no, no, I can't deal, I'm not even kidding.
I will for sure have to be checking out this comm! Because the fandom for that show brings me down, and all I want to do is love it.

...The crazy thing is that the very first time I listened to HOWL, Spit the Dark did not stand out to me at all. In fact, I wasn't even sure I liked the album in general--the sound was nothing like any of the music I was listening to at the time; my ears did not know how to react. I think it wasn't until I got to Keep the Mood that I thought, hmm, they might have something here. /0\ I have a weakness for lush, sexy songs, shut upppp. ANYWAY. Keep the Mood was enough to catch my interest, plus I was liking everything I read about the bandmembers, so I gave HOWL another few listens and paid closer attention to the lyrics and somewhere in there I fell completely in love. ♥♥♥
(This is, oddly enough, exactly what happened with Panic's second album--I didn't much like it the first time through, but it grew on me. The difference is I haven't listened to a single song off it since last July, whereas I've been regularly replaying HOWL for ALMOST TWO YEARS. "They might have something here," no kidding!)
SHUT UP, MIDNIGHT LAND IS THE DANTE SONG, AND...AND...oh god. NO. I CAN'T LET THIS THOUGHT INTO MY BRAIN. BRB COMMENCING BRAINBLEACHING. "I bet it burns now" AHAHAHA OH GOD YOU'RE HORRIBLE.
...ahem.
I think if Hello Lover were on an album, it would be less dangerous to, um, my anatomy in general. ...I'm talking about my heart. Yes, yes I am. Only my heart. Nothing else.
...AHEM.
In conclusion, I can't believe I told Mr. Sweaty Hair that Alex Kapranos leaned on me. Not only am I a ridiculous fangirl, but I am a ridiculous fangirl about SOMEONE ELSE'S BAND ENTIRELY while talking to the band whom I am ridiculously fangirling in the first place. DEAR GOD, WHAT DID I DO THAT FOR? I am just glad his reaction was glee that I'd had so much fun seeing Franz Ferdinand. /0\ Oh, Sean, you know how to make everything okay.
In extra conclusion, did you see the way SVV stepped into the light right on "hello, lover" at ~1:30 of the video I took? That timing was spooky and yet also REALLY HOT and I don't know why! And I also really appreciate the aesthetics (ahem) of the way he angles his head during, like, ALL OF IT.
OHHH. In that case you SO need to be in this comm! The wider SPN fandome kind of terrifies me a lot, so I stick to talking about it with friends + the squee comm. The general rule is, "We don't want to know why you don't like [X]! Do not harsh the squee!" It's very laid-back and happy. I figure, I have other places I can go if I want meta and critique, and I do sometimes go to those places, but when I just want to kick back and discuss WINCHESTER FACES!!! (which is what I like to do 99% of the time), the squee comm is the place to go. :D

IT IS NO USE TO FIGHT IT. YOU WILL NOW FOREVER THINK OF IT AS "THE STD SONG." "I BET IR BUUURNS NOW" WILL MAKE YOU GIGGLE AND GIGGLE. EVEN WHEN SVV IS SINNING IT RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU.
I like to share my glee and my misery. :D
But, no! You are right! It is just our hearts exploding. That is all. THE ONLY THING, OK.

AND I WILL NOT. I WILL DO MY BEST TO FORGET. YOU ARE MEAN. :(
Heh, well, it's less "you must like every bit of every episode!" (which we don't always) and more "I liked this bit, you liked that bit, it's all cool!" But we totally have misery reactions, too. Especially lately. OH WINCHESTERS. :(
no subject
Freudian whaaat.I tried to forget too. It won't work. lmao It will aaaalways be in your head now. Always.
I swear to god, people are all "did you notice [this negative thing] on [insert random SPN episode]" and my response is always always, "... no, mostly I was noticing [insert Winchester boy]'s face."
I would without a doubt watch Jensen read a phone book. Maybe SVV can do the theme song for that show!
