WHILE WE'RE TALKING ABOUT SPIT THE DARK: when Sean sang "who do you want to forget?" he pointed at me and made eye contact and I seriously almost burst out crying because, well, that line just means a lot. The whole damn song means a lot. I could talk about every single line of it, but in short, it is basically a primer for how I want to live my life. Does that make any sense whatsoever?

...The crazy thing is that the very first time I listened to HOWL, Spit the Dark did not stand out to me at all. In fact, I wasn't even sure I liked the album in general--the sound was nothing like any of the music I was listening to at the time; my ears did not know how to react. I think it wasn't until I got to Keep the Mood that I thought, hmm, they might have something here. /0\ I have a weakness for lush, sexy songs, shut upppp. ANYWAY. Keep the Mood was enough to catch my interest, plus I was liking everything I read about the bandmembers, so I gave HOWL another few listens and paid closer attention to the lyrics and somewhere in there I fell completely in love. ♥♥♥

(This is, oddly enough, exactly what happened with Panic's second album--I didn't much like it the first time through, but it grew on me. The difference is I haven't listened to a single song off it since last July, whereas I've been regularly replaying HOWL for ALMOST TWO YEARS. "They might have something here," no kidding!)

SHUT UP, MIDNIGHT LAND IS THE DANTE SONG, AND...AND...oh god. NO. I CAN'T LET THIS THOUGHT INTO MY BRAIN. BRB COMMENCING BRAINBLEACHING. "I bet it burns now" AHAHAHA OH GOD YOU'RE HORRIBLE.

...ahem.

I think if Hello Lover were on an album, it would be less dangerous to, um, my anatomy in general. ...I'm talking about my heart. Yes, yes I am. Only my heart. Nothing else.

...AHEM.

In conclusion, I can't believe I told Mr. Sweaty Hair that Alex Kapranos leaned on me. Not only am I a ridiculous fangirl, but I am a ridiculous fangirl about SOMEONE ELSE'S BAND ENTIRELY while talking to the band whom I am ridiculously fangirling in the first place. DEAR GOD, WHAT DID I DO THAT FOR? I am just glad his reaction was glee that I'd had so much fun seeing Franz Ferdinand. /0\ Oh, Sean, you know how to make everything okay.

In extra conclusion, did you see the way SVV stepped into the light right on "hello, lover" at ~1:30 of the video I took? That timing was spooky and yet also REALLY HOT and I don't know why! And I also really appreciate the aesthetics (ahem) of the way he angles his head during, like, ALL OF IT.

OHHH. In that case you SO need to be in this comm! The wider SPN fandome kind of terrifies me a lot, so I stick to talking about it with friends + the squee comm. The general rule is, "We don't want to know why you don't like [X]! Do not harsh the squee!" It's very laid-back and happy. I figure, I have other places I can go if I want meta and critique, and I do sometimes go to those places, but when I just want to kick back and discuss WINCHESTER FACES!!! (which is what I like to do 99% of the time), the squee comm is the place to go. :D
