The Hawaii Five-0 Cliche Meme
Fake boyfriends, accidental marriages, and amnesia, OH MY! Whatever your poison, whatever you favorite cliche, it's open and allowed here. Want to see Steve and Danny make out for cover and discover their ~true feelings? What about when they have to pretend to be boyfriends to keep cover? When they're forced to share a bed all ~platonic-like for weeks and keep waking up cuddling and then can't sleep without each other? Maybe Grace playing matchmaker? The one where everyone but them realizes they're married? Danny gets de-aged to six and Steve has to take care of him? Steve gets magicked into a tiny, angry kitten and/or dragon? They one where they must cuddle for warmth to survive?

You know, you know what happened?
Danny was napping out on the hammock, innocently napping, because it was warm out, and he'd been splashing around Steve's backyard with Grace. Because he'd gotten into the hammock after lunch sun-tired and content to listen to his daughter chase Steve in circles while pretending to be a sand monster. And he'd maybe dozed off, full and content, only to be woken up by Steve attempting to tackle him while on the hammock in some freaking ninja move only he he would be able to pull off without killing them both. And Danny is sleep-slow, so he can't really stop himself from saying, "I have never hated another person as much as I hate you, and I have an ex-wife and a custody battle under my belt."
But Steve just smiled, and bumped Danny's chin with his nose until Danny had to tilt his head back. He didn't really need to look at Steve to know he was smug anyway. "Grace passed out, pretty much mid-run. I'm a little worried your laziness is rubbing off on her."
"Only you could out energy an eight-year-old with that much sugar in her system," Danny returned, a little more fondly than he'd maybe meant to sound. It was the mention of Grace though, she always made him sound that way.
Steve just laughed though, smiling wide and his hair a little bit wild. Danny'd be trying to pull it if his hands were free, but he had to settle for headbutting Steve's shoulder, sort of. Kind of. It was maybe more of a headbump. A headpat, maybe. But he had no leverage, and he was still feeling pretty awesome, so whatever. "You like it here," Steve declared, like Danny had just announced that Steve was right about everything ever and there would no longer be a need for proper police procedure in the world. "You like it here so much, don't you, Danno?"
"Shut up," Danny said, because there was no living with Steve when he was like this. "Shut up, I'm taking a nap here."
And Steve just settled in more firmly, humming his agreement in the back of his throat, and god, even that sounded smug. "You fucking love it," he said against the side of Danny's neck, and, okay, apparently this is a thing they're doing now.
Danny got a hand free, finally, and just ended up curling his fingers into the waistband of Steve's stupid ocean-damp shorts. "You can't prove anything, McGarrett. There's no evidence for that at all."
"Shush," Steve said, smirking, "I'm trying to sleep here, you're kid is exhausting."

Just so pleased with himself and how he didn't see this coming.

Danny: That's because I thought human logic and, oh I don't know common sense would fill in the rest! Like hammocks! That rock when you move or tackle someone!

Danny: No! No. Don't. This is my fault! I took it for granted that you could think like a normal human being, when you obviously can't!
I should have known, really. Even if you haven't thrown anyone off roofs this week, or blown anything up, it's not that you've finally grown out of your destructive and rather late puberty, but that the universe was waiting for me to lower my guard before screwing me over!
Steve: Come on Danno! That-
Danny: Did I tell you to talk? No. Now shut up while I mentally disembowel you until I get out of this mess and can actually do it.
