I finally managed to write something for the cuddling meme! But I Still Think That We're In Love. Arthur/Eames and a typical morning. Um. It is ridiculous. But cuddling.

Title totally stolen from, uh, IDK, I was listening to Darren Criss at the time and really just wanted to go to bed. But this is a totally important point, okay: Darren Criss is too awesome for words. I'm blind from the heart eyes!

I was going to try a little Puck/Kurt thing next, but IDK, you guys. I have the hardest time with Glee fic. WHY IS IT SO HARD?

Um. Um. WHAT DO YOU THINK I SHOULD WRITE NEXT?

I saw you standing in the rain...

Eames huffs, quietly, water dripping from his ends of his hair and his lighter in his hand, flicking and flicking uselessly in the weather. It's always been more of a nervous habit than anything else anyway. It's like he forgets sometimes, how well Arthur knows him.

He's got tiny droplets of water stuck to his eyebrows, and he looks around before he'll step under the umbrella with Arthur.

It makes Arthur's fingers clench around the handle, makes him irrational and angry and almost reckless. "Eames," he says, and sighs.

But there are only so many fights he can have in a day. Only so many times he can watch Eames shuffle away. Somewhere around the corner Ariadne and Fischer are laughing, cruel like everyone's favorite jokes, and Arthur is just tired.

And maybe it works both ways, maybe he forgets sometimes how well Eames knows him, too, but Eames rubs at his mouth, soaks Arthur's shirt by pressing his wrist against Arthur's hip. He does that thing, that stupid little twist of his mouth and tilt of his head, and Arthur never stood a chance at all, not really.

"You're going to have to change before dinner," Arthur says, barely loud enough to be heard over the pounding of rain and running feet in the distance.

"Yeah," Eames says, absently, nodding. His tie is probably ruined, and Arthur's got wet socks from the puddles he had to cross to get here. But Eames doesn't step back and Arthur can't seem to make himself be the one to do it.

They just stand too close together, huddled under the same umbrella to wait out the storm like it's a decent excuse, and share a cigarette. They can be late for dinner; in this weather, no one will even notice. Eames touches Arthur's cheek, just once, and Arthur's afraid it's all he's ever going to get.

He wonders if he's ever going to stop just waiting for things to end.

I wish I had enough of a grasp on the English language to express how much I love this. You... It's amazing how much feeling you can store into so few words. I don't think I'll ever get over how talented you are. Truly!
