I'll go Anne Rice on ya. ;)

*chuckles* oh gods. Anne Rice is so... possessive.

Lestat muse: She's smart. She adores me. She's an exceptionally bright woman. It's only natural she doesn't want other people exerting control over my gorgeous body. And-
Louis: 'Stat, shh. The woman is EVIL.
Lori: *nods*

There are certain things in stories that I like to leave open enough for wiggle room. (...) "He did it for this reason" doesn't sit as well with me when I read a story as "he did it because of this or maybe because of this, or maybe it was that or maybe all of it" just because characterization is so objective that I often don't agree with their reasoning. I like to be able to draw my own conclusions.

there, you hooked me. I agree. I guess it's just that I see Draco being 'redeemed' so often, and Lucius being bastardized at that, and Draco becoming Harry's lapdog for no other reason than this sudden epiphany of what's Right and Wrong and How Harry Potter Is Wonderful, I got defensive regarding the whole Draco-switches-sides event. Not that you did any of that, please don't take it that way. I like your Draco. He's still proud and he takes no shite from Harry, or from anyone. He's realistic and bitter, something Severus probably passed on to him.

Either way, I never meant to give the impression that it was an easy decision for Draco at all.

I got that =) It was wonderful seeing him jarred and tortured by his past; in fact, I think that the scenery you painted, with all War-heroes not quite fitting into the world they helped create, and feeling miserable, is frighteningly believable.

I apologize if this sounds like justification, because I don't mean for it to at all, and I thank you for taking the time to tell me your thoughts a great deal because I can't improve unless the bad stuff is pointed out to me. :)

I thank YOU for taking the time to discuss your work with me; very few people are willing to discuss anything and this certainly has made me think a lot, and has increased my appreciation for this fic. I did like it very much. =)
